01Who can use Off The Ball

You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission — particularly for the location tracking and team features.

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens on your account.

02Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

This is the important part, and we enforce it.

You may not use Off The Ball to post, send or display anything that is:

  • abusive, harassing, bullying, threatening or intended to intimidate;
  • hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age;
  • sexually explicit, or sexual content involving minors of any kind;
  • violent, or which encourages violence, self-harm or suicide;
  • illegal, or which promotes illegal activity;
  • impersonating another person, a real club, or Off The Ball staff;
  • spam, a scam, or an attempt to obtain someone else's account or personal data.

This applies to everything other people can see: your display name, your username, and any team or group name or photo you create.

There is no tolerance for this content or for abusive users. We remove offending content and we terminate the accounts of people who post it. Serious cases, particularly anything involving a child, are reported to the police.

03How we enforce it

Automatic screening

Names and usernames are checked when you set them. Offensive ones are refused before anyone else can see them.

Reporting

Anyone can report a user, team or group from inside the app:

  • tap a player on your friends list, or long-press them on a team leaderboard, and choose Report or block;
  • tap the flag icon on a team or group you did not create;
  • or email fraser.g@offtheballfitness.com.

Our commitment

We review every report within 24 hours. If content breaks these terms we remove it. If an account breaks these terms we suspend or terminate it. We may do so without notice and without refund.

Blocking

You can block any user. A blocked account is removed from your friends list, disappears from every leaderboard you can see, no longer appears in your feed — and you no longer appear in theirs — and cannot contact you or send you requests. Manage your blocks at Profile → Safety & privacy → Blocked accounts.

04Your content

You keep ownership of what you create. You grant us a limited licence to store and display it so the app can work — for example, showing your display name to your teammates on a leaderboard.

When you save a session you choose who sees it: Just me, or Friends. Sharing is off by default and is a decision you make each time. A shared session shows your name, profile picture, playing level, match fitness and the session's figures, plus a pitch heat map for a match. It never includes where you were — your GPS coordinates stay on your device and are not shared. Deleting a shared session removes it from your friends' feeds.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it, including any photo you set as a team picture. We may remove any content that breaks these terms, or that we reasonably believe does.

05Health and safety — please read

Off The Ball is a fitness tool, not medical advice. Training plans, fitness percentages, levels and session recommendations are generated automatically from your own data. They are general guidance only.

  • Consult a doctor before starting a new training programme, especially if you have a medical condition or an injury.
  • Stop if you feel unwell, dizzy or in pain.
  • Watch where you are going. Do not look at your phone while running, and be aware of traffic, other players and your surroundings. You are responsible for your own safety during a session.
  • GPS accuracy varies with your phone, the weather and your surroundings. Do not rely on it for anything safety-critical.

You take part in physical activity at your own risk.

06Subscriptions and payments

Some features may require a paid subscription. If so:

  • Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before they end.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

07Acceptable use

Do not: reverse-engineer or tamper with the app; use bots, scripts or fake GPS data to falsify sessions or leaderboards; try to access another account or our systems; scrape data; resell access; or use the app in a way that breaks the law. We may suspend or terminate an account that does any of this.

08Availability

We do our best to keep Off The Ball working, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. We are not responsible for problems caused by your device, your operating system, your GPS hardware or your network.

09Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time: Profile → Delete account. This is permanent and erases your data — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms.

10Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows: the app is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost profits; and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

11Apple

Off The Ball is offered by Fraser Geddes, not by Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product liability, a failure to meet legal requirements, or a third-party intellectual-property claim. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

12Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Off The Ball afterwards means you accept the new version.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
